One pair of pants, five outfits
An investment piece is called an investment piece for a reason. The goal is to build a wardrobe of items that will last you a lifetime. People who spend $200, $500 or even $1000 on a shirt, dress or handbag, aren't simply getting rid of the piece of a couple of seasons. They're holding on to it for YEARS and may even pass it down as an heirloom piece to their children. Who hasn't heard about Kris Jenner's amazing vintage closet that Kourtney borrows from.
So today's post is going to show you have to maximize a pair of $300 Diane Von Furstenberg pants. And yes, you can do this with any item of clothing, expensive or otherwise, but this post is all about how to increase the wear of your heirloom piece.
Look #1- The pants are a print, so I paired with a neutral top, neutral shoe and neutral accessories.
Look #2-A casual look for a Spring day at the office. Add a cardigan for Casual Fridays.
Look #3- Sticking with our Spring/Summer theme, add a lightweight sweater and a killer wedge to the mix
Look #4- A look for work, pair with a crisp blouse and bold blazer
Look #5- A night on the town
Okay peeps, I've given you the tools to get the most wear out of your investment pieces. So don't be scared to spend a few extra bucks on that designer label. More than likely, it will last you a bit longer and you'll be able to pass it down to the next generation of fashionistas!
