The Arrival of the Thrift Box
I graduated with a degree in Merchandising and spent a few years as an Assistant Buyer at the buying office of a major North American retailer. After much deliberation, I left the buying office and decided to dedicate a year of service as an AmeriCorps VISTA. Two years and thousands of dollars in debt later, I had a Masters degree and had to make the ultimate decision; pay down my student loans or give up purchasing my FABULOUS Jimmy Choos!
As a 30+ year old with aspirations of becoming a college president, I knew my clothing and shoe choices would affect my acceleration up the higher education ladder. With a monthly shopping budget of $100, I cruised my local Goodwill for basic pieces and shopped the sales section of local consignment stores. Giving up my designer and bridge shoes and clothing was NOT an option. I had to make it work with very little money.
How does this relate to you? Well, as a thrifter, I've been able to maintain a classy, professional and pretty darned fabulous wardrobe on a minimal budget. So many of us want to update our wardrobe, but we just don't have the finances to do so. So...I created a WeShopThrift.com, a thrift box subscription service filled with curated pieces to help you do just that! Through my boxes, I'm able to send you slightly worn and/or vintage clothing hand-picked for you based on a style survey. Along the way, you'll receive weekly style instruction, outfit inspiration and videos on how to style your thrifted pieces. My goal is to have the entire country looking fabulous on a budget!
Right now, I'm offering a subscription service that will basically have me shop for you for $50-$200 a month, 3 months or six months. All you have to do is complete the online style assessment that comes straight to me upon completion. Once you make your payment, I start working on building your personalized thrift box. Here's what the pricing looks like:
$50 3-5 items (tops, sweaters, skirts, jackets, dresses, may include an accessory)
$100 7-8 items per month (tops, skirts, jackets, dresses, accessories)
$200 12-15 items per month (tops, skirts, jackets, dresses, accessories, may include handbag)
