Marsala? Oxblood? Potato? Potata?
I've stayed off of the Pantone trail with the release of their 2015 color, 'Marsala', because to me it's pretty similar to the 'Oxblood' trend that was on the runways a few seasons back. However, whether you call it Marsala', 'Oxblood', 'Cranberry' or 'Wine', this vampy color is not going away anytime soon. So how will you incorporate it into your wardrobe?
If you follow me on Instagram at @IamDionneDean, you've seen a few ways that I've incorporated vamp into my wardrobe. If you haven't, here's a peek...
So how are some ways to incorporate this color trend into your wardrobe? Here are a few inspired looks:
First we have an oxblood culotte, paired with a basic black turtleneck, statement coat/jacket and a killer pump. Let 'Marsala' have it's way and make it the most interesting piece in the outfit. Accessorize with bold jewelry and vamp up the lips a bit. Don't be afraid to add a little sexiness to this look.
For a more casual look, maybe bring in the color in a whispy top or a good leather bag. Don't forget your nails! Your hands are often the first things that people notice, seeing as we often talk with their hands.
And just in case you feel like being a bit adventurous, here's some pattern mixing inspiration for ya ;-) Marsala is a warm tone, so try to match it with patterns and jewelry with the same color intensity.
Hope I've inspired you to try a lil' something new. Don't be afraid to jump right into this color trend. Have fun. Experiment. You may surprise yourself and come up with looks that you didn't even know you had inside you! Enjoy yourself!
