Shopping in Old Town Alexandria

My bestie Akela and I and I had plans to spend a best friend holiday in NYC. However, snow stores and ice roads forced us to look to Akela's local neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia for thrift finds and consignment hunting.

Our first stop was Diva Designer Consignment, a gorgeous upscale consignment boutique located in a beautiful 1880's townhome in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. The store itself consists of three floors of gently used clothing and accessories. The basement, or 'Cellar', featured racks and racks of sale items, with prices coming in at nearly 75% off of retail. An extra 25% off of basement prices sweetened the deal for both and Akela and I, as we made our way through each and every rack.

The main floor housed outerwear, bags and jewelry from the likes of designers such as Gucci and Versace, to bridge lines of Talbots and Kenneth Cole. We moved up to the third floor, only to find more gently used designer duds. The shoe sections (yes, plural) were amazing. We had our fill of diva moments trying on Missoni and Prada pumps!

Here is my FAVE purchase from the store, purchased for $20, down from $100+... #score

Still on a high from Diva Designer Consignment, we continued to trek through  Old Town Alexandria only to walk up on this sign on the way to the car.

So in we went...

It was love at first sight the moment we walked in. A different layout than our previous stop, Mint Condition Consignment did not disappoint. Accessories galore, Mint Condition's jewelry table featured every color in the rainbow.

Clothes, shoes and bags galore, this store did not disappoint. One of the stores major selling points is that they carry items from only a season or two ago, so all of their items are up to trend.

Honey, you know about me and my heirloom pieces, so you know I was all over this display case. However, I was just 'fattening my eye' (Jamaican for window shopping ;-)), as my husband already warned me about what would happen if I brought another purse into the house...HA!

Well, we were shopped out and tuckered out by 1pm and had to make a pastry stop at La Madeline along the way. However, we found more than we would've ever imagined in Old Town Alexandria. Needless to say, we won't be doing any Brooklyn trips anytime soon LOL

Well loves, gonna sort through my finds and put together a few looks for you. Stay warm out there and enjoy that piece of pumpkin pie for me! Love ya and remember, we NEVER pay retail!

Besos,

Dionne
