One DVF Wrap Dress, Three Different Ways
The iconic DVF wrap dress has been put on display with the show 'House of DVF'. We all may want one, but that $400 price tag dissuade some of us from taking the fashion plunge. So, I've decided to show you a few ways to wear the $400+ garment in hopes that even if you don't have one, you can purchase a wrap dress somewhere else and utilize the same styling cues. Here's some ways that you can transform one wrap dress into 3 distinct looks:
This first look is my favorite and one that I do ALL the time with my dresses: a cardigan and colored tights. I mostly wear opaque tights to cover up my tattoos while doing presentations or meeting clients for the first time (they don't need to know the ratchet Dionne...at least not yet ;-)). Here's the opportunity to play with color. You can also skip the colored tight and just add the colored cardigan. Either way, you've just created another 2-3 variations on how to wear your wrap dress.
The second look is a classic. A black leather jacket over a wrap dress adds some edge to the look immediately. Great for those days when you're in and out of meetings around town and can definitely go from day to evening with the addition of more jewels and gems.
This next look is for the daring. You guys know how I feel about pattern mixing. Stripes, polka dots, animal print, floral...whatever. Throw it together for one awesome collage of fabulosity! A striped jacket over this bold floral print is a hit! Keep your accessories basic as not to clash with the prints and some patent into the mix and you're ready to take on the world honey!
Well, I hope I gave you some inspiration to spend a bit of money on at least one wrap dress, even if it's not DVF. One key piece, some closet staples and a few daring accessories can give you dozens of options. Keep an open mind and don't be scared to try something different. You may end up inspiring others around you to do the same!
